Triple Candie's Temporary Mural Project started in 2004 as a series of artist-commissions for two bricked-up windows on its W126th Street facade. For each commission, the artist was required to sand-off the work of the previous artist before painting a new mural on the same panels. The murals were on view for ix six months before they were repainted.

In 2006, Triple Candie itself began generating the murals, still changing them at the same frequency. In late 2007, when the windows were covered with scaffolding because of construction on the exterior of the building, the project was resited to the contruction paneling. In May 2008 it was put on hold. The hope is to restart it in 2010.
